Dragonflylotus Designs Handspun Thread Semi-Solid Collection - semi-solid stock colorways available in a variety of fiber bases, ideal for cross stitch, embroidery, needlepoint and fabric embellishment.
Sunlit Chestnut is spun from a 100% BFL wool fiber base. BFL (Blue Faced Leicester) is my go-to wool for cross stitch and embroidery - it's long staple length allows it to hold up to the abrasion caused by drawing it through the fabric over and over again.
Chestnut is available in the following fiber bases:
- Sunlit Chestnut - 100% white BFL wool (regular weight)
- Shadowed Chestnut - 100% variegated BFL wool (regular weight)
- Frosted Chestnut - merino wool/bamboo rayon (regular weight)
Recommended Fabric/Coverage:

Cross Stitch: 14-18 count Aida 1 over 1 or 28-36 count linen/evenweave 1 over 2.

Needlepoint: 1 strand for 24 count congress cloth or 2 strands for 13/18 count mono canvas
All my threads are handspun on my Ashford Traveler wheel in my smokeless, cat-friendly studio. I have done all I can to ensure the colors depicted above are accurate, but please be aware that dye lots cannot be exactly duplicated and monitors can display colors differently.
